How Team Europe Won the 2026 Laver Cup
Europe finished Friday with a 3-1 lead, but Team World moved ahead 5-3 after Learner Tien and Alex de Minaur won Saturday’s opening singles matches.
Carlos Alcaraz then saved two match points against Taylor Fritz, winning their deciding match tiebreak 13-11 to level the overall score. Casper Ruud and Zverev followed with a doubles victory that put Europe 7-5 ahead overnight.
On Sunday, Flavio Cobolli and Jakub Mensik defeated de Minaur and Fritz to extend that advantage to 10-5. Zverev then beat Tien to complete the win. Europe won all three doubles matches played across the weekend, collecting six of its 13 points from those victories.

How the 2026 Scoring Format Worked
The Laver Cup used a team points system, with match victories increasing in value each day: one point on Friday, two on Saturday and three on Sunday. The first team to reach 13 points won, so the final 13-5 score represented team points rather than the number of matches won.
Both singles and doubles used advantage scoring. If the players split the first two sets, a 10-point match tiebreak replaced a full third set.
The competition did not award ATP ranking points.
Laver Cup 2026 Prize Money
Each of Team Europe’s six players earned US$250,000 in prize money, giving the winning team a combined US$1.5 million.
Players from both teams also received separate appearance fees. Team World’s players did not receive prize money, but their appearance fees were paid regardless of the result.
