Men’s Singles: Djokovic Wins Seventh Beijing Title

Djokovic claimed his seventh China Open title and extended his unbeaten record at the tournament to 34-0. It was his first title of 2026, his 102nd tour-level singles title and his first appearance in Beijing since 2015.

The sixth seed won the opening set against de Minaur in a tiebreak. The Australian held serve to begin the second set but then retired with a left adductor strain, ending the match after one hour and 23 minutes.

Djokovic’s route included comeback victories over Bu Yunchaokete in the second round and top seed Alexander Zverev in the quarterfinals. His semifinal against Hangzhou Open champion Daniil Medvedev ended with Medvedev defaulted while Djokovic led 7-5, 5-3.

De Minaur reached the final after Hubert Hurkacz retired from their semifinal with the Australian leading 6-4, 3-2. That result was also recorded as a retirement.

Women’s Singles: Zheng Wins Her First WTA 1000 Title

Zheng Qinwen defeated fourth seed Mirra Andreeva 7-5, 6-4 to win her first WTA 1000 title. She became the first Chinese woman to win the China Open’s WTA 1000 singles crown, collecting her sixth tour-level singles title and her first since Tokyo in 2024.

The final turned during a tense opening set. Zheng saved three set points while serving at 4-5, recovered to take the set and later broke for a 5-4 lead in the second before serving out the match.

Zheng entered as an unseeded wild card and needed seven victories to lift the trophy. She finished with straight-set wins over Elina Svitolina in the quarterfinals, Elise Mertens in the semifinals and Andreeva in the final.

Mertens had eliminated Coco Gauff and Iga Swiatek in consecutive rounds. In the other half, Andreeva defeated Nikola Bartunkova 6-2, 6-2 to reach the championship match.

Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool won their third title of 2026 and their 11th together. The British pair recovered from losing the second set against Sander Arends and David Pel to take the deciding match tiebreak 10-6.
